The conference was organised by our project partners, The Stroke Centre at BACH MAI HOSPITAL and Hanoi Stroke Association (led by our Vietnam project lead Prof. Mai Duy Ton), and supported by the London Digital Twin Research Centre at Middlesex University, VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Oxford, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and other partners. The event is also part of our two ISPF projects, StrokeDT and DT-StrokeNetwork, focusing on interdisciplinary research of Digital Twin for Stroke Care, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and supported by The British Council and The Academy of Medical Sciences.
Deputy Minister of Health, Vietnam, Prof. Tran Van Thuan, the U.S. Ambassador Marc Knapper, and World Stroke Organization‘s President, Prof. Jeyaraj Pandian, together with many leaders from health departments and hospitals in Vietnam attended the conference, giving opening and keynote speeches.
Our project team members (UK, Vietnam and Indonesia), Prof Huan Nguyen, Dr Mai Duy Ton, Dr Tran Cong Minh, Dr Dao Viet Phuong, Dr Nguyen Tien Dung, Dr Farida Niken Astari, together with our colleagues from the UK, Prof Arjune Sen and Dr. Raja Jayaram presented 8 different talks and chaired multiple sessions, highlighting latest research on Stroke Care and the supporting digital technologies. It was universally agreed during the conference that digital transformation is urgently needed for stroke care in Vietnam.
