Project summary:

Recent advances of digital technologies have potential to change the landscape of health care sector. The project’s goal is to establish international partnerships bridging researchers, doctors, policy makers, and practitioners from Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and the UK to harness ‘digital twinning’ technology for improved stroke care. Digital twinning, while widely investigated in various fields, is a novel approach in stroke care. By creating virtual replicas of patients’ brains and stroke histories, doctors can enhance decision-making and treatment prediction. This initiative forms a global network of healthcare experts/researchers collaborating to investigate the potential and challenges of digital twins for stroke patients. This interdisciplinary collaboration enables the exchange of knowledge and experiences, fostering a united global community dedicated to advancing stroke care. Stroke poses a significant global health concern, with particular urgency in countries like Vietnam and Indonesia where minor-stroke patients often receive inadequate care, leading to severe consequences. Through these partnerships, the project aims to explore the potentials for more effective stroke prevention and treatment methods, resulting in better patient outcomes, faster interventions, and lives saved. This collaboration with UK experts promises to make a tangible impact on stroke patients’ lives and strengthen the global healthcare community in Vietnam/Indonesia, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to health, innovation, and partnerships (SDG 3 ‘Good health and well-being,’ SDG 9 ‘Industry, innovation and infrastructure,’ and SDG 17 ‘Partnerships for the goals’). The project anticipates exciting discoveries and networking opportunities as it works towards enhancing global partnerships in digital twinning for stroke care.
